Hello!

Hi all! I have surprisingly little to say today...it was a long (though wonderful) day at work, followed by helping my mom out as she continues to recover from her surgery. Somehow, we squeezed in pictures, but that's about all I've got for you. Well that, and life is so exciting right now!

Skirt and Shoes:Kohl's/Long Sleeve Tee:J. Crew/Necklace, Earrings, Bangles, Belt:Target/Cuff: Ruche/Charm Bracelet: Lia Sophia

See how excited I am? I'm busting at the seams!
And look at how much my little "Monkey" adores me...I'm the luckiest!

Yesterday I boldly pronounced that it was my last misfit...I fibbed, I'm throwing in a "bonus" item. Yup, just when you thought it was safe to return to fabland, I throw in more misfits!

Pants, Tee, Flats, Earrings, Gold Bangles:Target/Blazer and Silver Bangles: H&M/Necklace: Lia Sophia/Toggle Bracelet: Tiffany's

It's this blazer. It is really big, I mean, that's how it was designed, but when I brought it home and started wearing it, I discovered that I really "swim" in it. I also feel a little "Miami Vice", you know, Don Johnson and the rolled up sleeves on the odd bright blazers... I did wear my little black bow flats again today, and I have to say, even though the blazer is big, this was all easy to pull together and comfortable while I ran errands today. So I don't know..maybe I can make the blazer work? I have two items that I'm definitely donating after doing the 10 and 2..I'm not sure if I should add this to the pile?

Aye Matey!

While taking pictures today, Savannah kept referring to my blouse as "your pirate shirt"...wonder why it's my next misfit?
Blouse:Old Navy/Crop Pants:Ross/Shoes:The Shoe Dept./Earrings,Bracelet, Necklace: Lia Sophia
Not only does this blouse have a multitude of ruffles, but it also has a tie front...holy multiple trends combined batman! I actually like it...but it kinda reminds of that Seinfeld episode...ya know, the one with the shirt? Meanwhile, I think I want to wear these shoes everywhere everyday! I can't even stop at the gas station without getting buckets of compliments!
Don't forget to visit Megan!

Pink, Blue and "Junk"

After getting home from work today, the girls and I headed over to the elementary school where they have this great one room school house. Savannah enjoyed taking pictures, while Ashton enjoyed eating chocolate...which then got everywhere. To take a look at her covered in chocolate head to facebook, where you can also see some other outtakes. Meanwhile, I realized I own a lot of blue! I love this blouse paired with the light pink bandage skirt though, it definitely made me happy today. This skirt highlights a feature I didn't even know I had before I put it on! You see, I have none of the proverbial "junk in the trunk," this trunk is empty, but this skirt somehow made it look like there was some "junk" back there! So I had fun as J Lo for a day...ok so maybe not that much "junk," but a girl can dream!

"I love your look! It's all retro...."

The young girl behind the counter at American Eagle kept eyeing me up as she chatted, and then she said to me "I love your look! It's all retro." So, nice little ego boost today as I shopped for my son's birthday presents. Yes, today is his birthday (and yes I JUST picked up his gifts----bad mommy!). My little baby boy is a big grown 15! One of these days I'll have a picture of him on here, but between working out and hanging out he hardly has time for mommy's blog!

Tee and Coral Bead Bracelets:Target/Skirt and Silver Bangles:H&M/Belt, Necklace and Shoes:Thrifted

So...today's outfit is colorful, a little classic and appeals to a demographic of the younger kind!
...and wishing a most HAPPY BIRTHDAY to my first born, my one and only son and my comedic relief. Love you Tyler!

Independence

For the first time I can remember we have no plans for the 4th of July. No picnic, no fireworks...nothing. This is probably due to the fact that James is working all day...and I'm a-okay with having no plans...we will just see where the day takes us.

I put on this skirt today and was thrilled with how "youthful" it is. I feel like a little co-ed or something in it, so maybe I'm too old to wear it, but do I look like I care? nope! I'm a strong, independent woman and if I want to wear a youthful skirt and feel free then why not? What I wear is about what feels good to me!
Speaking of feeling good to me...I picked up a nail polish called "minted". Mint chocolate chip is my favorite ice-cream, and as soon as I saw it I had to have it. I put it on last night and I swear I could smell mint chip ice cream...it looks so good I could take a lick! I think the kids and I have some plans for the day now...we're going to the ice-cream parlor! I'll let you know if while we are there I get mistaken for a sister to my kids...ya know, with the fabulous youthful skirt and all!
Skirt and Blue Bangles:H&M/Shoes, Tank,Button Down and Bangles:Target/Necklace:Ruche/Belt :I've had it so long I honestly can't remember! (oops, tell tale sign that I'm not as youthful as I look)

I felt so free and young, I had to twirl....
...and then I got dizzy and almost fell over. No hips were broken in the making of this blog post.

P.S. Thanks to Tyler, my oldest for taking the pictures today! He was out of bed and ready for the day and happily volunteered (He also helped me decide how to style it...and now he may kill me for sharing that!)

Head to Toe

Today I wore head to toe black. Black isn't just for funeral's, nor should anyone feel like it is their only uniform for a slimming effect! Truly, any monochromatic scheme lengthens the body...don't wear black because you think you have to...wear it because you want to do so fabulously!
I was in Pittsburgh again all day to day for training, and once again dressed not only for "fabulosity" but also for comfort! I was comfortable sitting in the car, sitting in the training and moving around the room during our group presentations. Speaking of which, there is nothing more fun than asking a room full of adult "professionals" to name all the female body parts! Talk about to head to toe! I truly have the best jobs ever!
Skirt: Banana Republic (thrifted) Remixed/Tee:Target/Shoes:Payless/Sunnies and ring: Trendz the Salon Spa/Cuff:gift/Necklace Ruche/Watch:Eddie Bauer (gift)
My youngest, Ashton wanted to help take pictures today...she thought it would be fun to hold the camera all "wonky", she also loves telling mommy how to pose!

This is another shot that Ashton took...I think it's pretty fabulous!

It should be illegeal to have THAT much fun at work!

 Sweater, Cargo Capri's, t-shirt and bracelets:Target, Scarf, Purse and Earrings:Ruche, Necklace and Belt:Thrifted, Shoes:Speedo
Today, I was paid to dance all day long! Get your mind out of the gutter, not that kind of paid dancing! At job #1, we hosted our annual camp for people who choose intellectual and developmental disability services. We had over700 people registered to attend! I was in the music room with our talented musician Leslie and shook my "money maker" (ha ha), all day! My arthritic body will pay for it later, but was well worth it! So, today's outfit was more about fashion function than glamour. I wanted to be comfortable, and as it was chilly in the morning and got hot in the afternoon, so I needed some layers! Hence, this oh so comfy, not so glam ensemble! I would like to note though, that the photographer at our event ran up to me first thing this morning to tell me what a great outfit I had on and take a picture. (He sure knows how to make a girls heart skip a beat!). So my hair is a wreck, I had been sweating all day, and was ready to fall over when we took these, enjoy! ha ha! It really should be illegal to have that much fun at work!
My darling photographer today was my daughter Savannah. How fabulous is she?!
