Yesterday I boldly pronounced that it was my last misfit...I fibbed, I'm throwing in a "bonus" item. Yup, just when you thought it was safe to return to fabland, I throw in more misfits!

Pants, Tee, Flats, Earrings, Gold Bangles:Target/Blazer and Silver Bangles: H&M/Necklace: Lia Sophia/Toggle Bracelet: Tiffany's

It's this blazer. It is really big, I mean, that's how it was designed, but when I brought it home and started wearing it, I discovered that I really "swim" in it. I also feel a little "Miami Vice", you know, Don Johnson and the rolled up sleeves on the odd bright blazers... I did wear my little black bow flats again today, and I have to say, even though the blazer is big, this was all easy to pull together and comfortable while I ran errands today. So I don't know..maybe I can make the blazer work? I have two items that I'm definitely donating after doing the 10 and 2..I'm not sure if I should add this to the pile?

Aye Matey!

While taking pictures today, Savannah kept referring to my blouse as "your pirate shirt"...wonder why it's my next misfit?
Blouse:Old Navy/Crop Pants:Ross/Shoes:The Shoe Dept./Earrings,Bracelet, Necklace: Lia Sophia
Not only does this blouse have a multitude of ruffles, but it also has a tie front...holy multiple trends combined batman! I actually like it...but it kinda reminds of that Seinfeld episode...ya know, the one with the shirt? Meanwhile, I think I want to wear these shoes everywhere everyday! I can't even stop at the gas station without getting buckets of compliments!
Don't forget to visit Megan!

Another Misfit...Mystery Pants!

The mystery you ask? Am I or am I not wearing a diaper under these puppies? No offense to anyone who use diapers...some day, I'm sure I'll rock me some depends. I've had three kids, and my bladder isn't what it used to be...but aside from the occasional unexpected sneeze I don't wet myself yet. Just kidding about the sneeze, maybe? I'll leave it to your imagination, you know, keep the mystery alive in our relationship...kinda like the mystery of these pants. HAHA, see I made it full circle to the mystery pants!

See how they are all saggy and strange in the area of precious bits? C'mon, take a close look, I'll wait.
See! I COULD be wearing a diaper under there! I suppose I could also be smuggling something in there too? oooh more mystery! Hence I chose these as my third misfit in the 10 and 2 Challenge. (Don't forget to go see Megan!)I picked them up several years ago and no, I didn't try them on! Sadly they are very comfortable corduroys, but I can't really leave the house in them. I did today, I actually wore these to do a presentation on bullying. I even asked participants why they thought I got bullied-a perfect opportunity for someone to point out that I appear to wear diapers, yet everyone was too gracious to mention it! To be fair, these pants are actually a size or two big now (I have mentioned that I hoard clothes right? doesn't matter if they fit or not!)
Blouse:Old Navy/Tank:Target/Mystery Pants:Jimmy'Z/Shoes:The Shoe Dept./Ring:Trendz The Salon Spa/Elephant Necklace:Ruche/Silver Bangles:H&M/Gold Bankles and Wooden Bracelet:Target/Watch:Eddie Bauer/Belt:Thrifted
Yup, even princess saggy pants here can't make these puppies work. They're outta here!

Misfit Part Two: Don't ask me when I'm due!

In middle school, I had a French teacher who was probably in her 50's. She had this very slender frame and always wore long dresses. Her stomach always confused me. For most of the school year, I couldn't figure out why she hadn't given birth! Her slender frame was carrying a paunch that was highlighted by her dresses and she looked as though she was pregnant. Fortunately, I never quite got up the nerve to ask when she was due...I would have promptly discovered that she was in fact not pregnant and I'm sure I would have found myself failing French that year!
That is exactly what THIS misfit top makes me think of! I had no problem deciding which item would go next in the 10 and 2 challenge
I bought this puppy several years ago, and on the rack it looked all feminine and "flowy" and I liked the print. The first time I wore it, I knew I had made a mistake...I was terrified someone would ask me my due date. So, no, I'm not pregnant...I'm just the victim of poor choice (and never trying anything on before I buy). There will be no re-styling or tweaking with this puppy...It's outta here!

Weekends and boots

Well, it's the weekend! I'm happy to have some time to rest, sad that my poor car Bessie is still out of commission until Thursday! Today has been spent helping my mom find shoes and grocery shopping and cleaning. Hence, I went with comfort today! I was so excited to pull out my riding boots...have I mentioned that I love fall? My boots were perfect for all the walking I have done today!
See, I'm just a little excited to be able to donne boots and scarves again! Not to mention the Blue Moon Pumpkin Spiced Ale I enjoyed upon arriving home! I can't wait until I see some fall color around here!
Boots and Scarf:Ross/Jeans:Target/Top:J.Crew/Belt:Thrifted/Bracelet:Lia Sophia
At the mall today, Ashton enjoyed the Spider Jump...My mom and I had so much fun watching her!

Spotted and Random

Today's Shine Project challenge is about getting to know each other better by posting random things about ourselves. Stop by Ashley's blog to see more and check out her new store!
Shoes: The Shoe Dept./Cropped Pants:Ross/Tee:Target/Scarf:J.C.Penny/Gold Charm Bracelet:Lia Sophia/Bracelet:Gift/Earrings:Ruche/Sweater:H&M
So...here's some randomness.
1.Today is the first time I have ever worn an animal print of any kind! (what? what kind of style blogger is she?)
2.I am afraid of math and the dentist, they both make me want to cry!
3. My favorite meal is liver and onions! for real...my mom makes it for me on my birthday!
4. Sometimes, I will eat spaghettio's with meatballs...on toast.
5. I can swear like a trucker!
6. I can be reserved like a nun!
7. I hate talking on the phone! texting was the best invention!
8. I love people but I'm so uncomfortable around people sometimes and I don't know how to make small talk!
9. I love the movie "So I Married an Axe Murderer," Mostly because the Scottish Dad (played by Mike Myers) reminds me of my own family! "Head, Pants, Now!" (seriously, British families speak in sarcasm and ridicule!)
10. My favorite thing is a hug from any one of my 3 kids! But I don't like being touched!

It's not labor day yet!

Wearing white while I can? no, not really, I'll still wear white after labor day....this is not a rule I follow! But the mustard paired with navy and white seems like a great way to transition to fall, but that's just my perspective!
While it looks like Ashton and I are having a "stand off"...she was just being goofy...no stand off's in our house! LOL

Techno Blackout

Starting today, we enacted a daily technology blackout in our house for both kids and adults alike. Every evening until 7pm, no phones, computer, ipads, ipods etc... by 7, I was twitching and feinding for my fix....I think this will be tougher for me than the kids!
My outfit today was simple and to the point...black, white and stripes...I was stripedy, yup, I made up a word again!

 ...and here's my gorgeous Savannah.

A Changing Relationship

This is my first time participating in The Shine Project challenge.
This week it is to write about a relationship that has changed our lives. I struggled with this because there have been so many impact filled relationships in my life, from my kids to family, to friends to my partner James. The more I reflected the more I realized that the one relationship which impacted all of those and me in a significant was my relationship with myself! I know, you just threw up in your mouth a little. "Is the woman really saying that she is the most important relationships she has?!" Well don't stop reading...it will soon make sense, hopefully!
Shoes:Thrifted/Shirt and Scarf:Target/Pants:Kols/Necklace:Ruche/Earrings c/o:Lia Sophia (Natasha)
Once upon a time I was my worst enemy. For most of my life, I was my harshest critic, I beat myself up, I judged myself harshly and believed I would never be smart enough, pretty enough or good enough. Judging myself meant I also judged and compared myself to others. If you're busy competing with others to prove to yourself you're the best, it is very difficult to have really deep connection to others!
Eventually, thanks to a mentor and friends, I was introduced to some new ideas including non-violent communication, and my relationship with me began to change. I learned how to forgive myself and accept myself. When I could see the beauty in me, I was open to the beauty in others and it changed my world! I no longer needed to judge others, because I wasn't judging me (well, I sometimes still do, but then I forgive myself for it and accept my mistakes). This means that I can accept everyone else as they are and be completely open to everything they have to offer as the unique individuals they are!
So maybe it sounds cheesy, or even conceited, but it's one of the reasons I started this blog! we are all so beautiful, full of skill and passion and love and when we can see it in ourselves we let go of hate, competition and fear, and embrace the fabulosity that is in everyone! So, yes, the most important relationship that has changed my life is my relationship with me. I have become a better mother, daughter, partner, friend, sister... human being!

Partay!

The BDIB challenge this week is to display our best arm party! Since I LOVE jewelry, this works for me! I think it was Coco Chanel who said before leaving the house remove one accessory....I say add more! While I answered the BDIB "call to arms" and decorated my wrist, I was pretty simple with my outfit choice today.
 Bangles:H&M/Sparkly Bracelet:Target/Toggle Bracelet:Tiffany/Watch:Eddie Bauer (gift)

I was doing back to back trainings all day, and wanted to be comfortable and simple. Nothing is simpler than a crisp white button-down! By the way...I say this all the time on facebook and to friends, I have the best jobs! I got paid to talk a bout sex (well sexuality) all day! I think they should start playing Salt N' Peppa's "Let's Talk About Sex" every time I enter a room...that would go nicely with the applause I hear in my head!

Not Matchy Matchy

Savannah took one look at me today and said "ewwww, go change...that doesn't match." I'm ok with it not matching...in fact, I think I like it. What do you think?

I love this zipper detail down the back!
