Another Misfit...Mystery Pants!

The mystery you ask? Am I or am I not wearing a diaper under these puppies? No offense to anyone who use diapers...some day, I'm sure I'll rock me some depends. I've had three kids, and my bladder isn't what it used to be...but aside from the occasional unexpected sneeze I don't wet myself yet. Just kidding about the sneeze, maybe? I'll leave it to your imagination, you know, keep the mystery alive in our relationship...kinda like the mystery of these pants. HAHA, see I made it full circle to the mystery pants!

See how they are all saggy and strange in the area of precious bits? C'mon, take a close look, I'll wait.
See! I COULD be wearing a diaper under there! I suppose I could also be smuggling something in there too? oooh more mystery! Hence I chose these as my third misfit in the 10 and 2 Challenge. (Don't forget to go see Megan!)I picked them up several years ago and no, I didn't try them on! Sadly they are very comfortable corduroys, but I can't really leave the house in them. I did today, I actually wore these to do a presentation on bullying. I even asked participants why they thought I got bullied-a perfect opportunity for someone to point out that I appear to wear diapers, yet everyone was too gracious to mention it! To be fair, these pants are actually a size or two big now (I have mentioned that I hoard clothes right? doesn't matter if they fit or not!)

Yup, even princess saggy pants here can't make these puppies work. They're outta here!

Red, White and Orange?

I own a lot of blue and white stripes...I didn't realize it until I started looking at my closet this morning, but trust me, I do. In honor of this 4th of July weekend, I was going to go with red, white and blue...but then I changed my mind (That's a woman's prerogative). Ashton and I are all matchy matchy today, the other two kids weren't even dressed yet, they literally just crawled out of bed. Ahhhh to be the mother of teens!

On Ashton, Dress and Shoes: H&M/ Fabulous smile and luxurious hair: All hers!

On me: Skirt:B Moss/Tee, Shoes and Bracelets: Target/Belt and Beaded Necklace: thrifted/ Beetle Necklace:H&M (Borrowed from Ashton-she was so excited to get it that she repeated "I got a beetle" like a song throughout the store...for about an hour!)

Whimsical

I spent HOURS organizing my closets last night! I should have been working, but I thought it wouldn't take long (Ha!). It occurred to me that I'm just a touch of a clothes hoarder(yup, just a touch). The thing is, I am loyal to my clothes, once I have bought you, you are my cozy friend and even if you sit in the back of my closet for five years, I couldn't possibly contemplate letting you go! This skirt is one of those items. I don't think I could tell you when I bought it...it just seems it has always been in my closet. I still love it though...it's....whimsical. Something about it just screams romance and poetry to me. So I donned it today and am pleased with my choice. Not only is the skirt "whimsical" but also extremely comfortable, this was welcome while I sat in Pittsburgh traffic this morning and then in a training all day! I am happy to report that I did in fact throw out some items last night (well, they are waiting to go to Goodwill and find a new home). It gave me some ideas about the closet staples I have and how I do keep organized, so I'm thinking eventually there will be a whole page dedicated to that!(more to keep me in check in than anything else). But for now...enjoy my "whimsy".

Day 1

 This is me! Hi!
Dress and Necklace: thrifted, Belt: Target, Sweater and Earrings: Ruche
This is me and my youngest, Ashton
This is me and my oldest daughter, Savannah

So, this is my first EVER fashion post...and I feel silly! First, I had to try to pose, which I am not good at...it just comes off very awkward! Second, my fabulous daughters had to double as my photographers, and they were really great at making "mommy" feel even more awkward and silly! Third....well I'm not sure, but I'll bet there is a lot more I could add to the reasons I feel silly...but I look FABULOUS doing it! Ha!
